CLASSIC HARBOURSIDE LUXURY VILLA


At Ciboney on Harbour Island, completed in 2017, showcases as the classic Bahamian 2.5 story veranda-style great house. This stately harbour front residence was built with family vacations, relaxing in luxury, natural light, water sports and entertaining in mind. Creating a sense of place was of the utmost importance to the architect, interior designer and builder of Wind Whistle. 

As one enters the property via the private, gated, tree lined driveway into the lush tropical gardens of Wind Whistle sloping towards the harbour and house, there is a true sense of privacy, exclusivity and sanctuary. There is a spacious parking area and covered cart port one passes as approaching the front door where the guests first view upon entering is directly through the house to the lawns, pool, harbour and North Eleuthera island beyond.  

Guests may also arrive via boat (or water taxi) to the Wind Whistle private dock. The dock accommodates vessels up to 44 feet, 12ft beam, 3ft draft, with a 30amp/110v shore power, purified water. The dock is a short 150ft walk up to the house.  The property also offers swimming access from the dock or small cove beach. There are 3 paddle boards and a 2-person kayak, basic snorkeling & fishing gear included with the villa.

The great room, living and dining rooms all offer an 11-foot coffered ceiling, along with three pairs of French doors leading out to the lower veranda and stunning views of the harbour and Eleuthera in the distance. Guests enjoy the living room with oversized sofa, rattan chairs upholstered in Quadrille fabric and 65-inch smart television.  The main dining area offers a bespoke rattan Chippendale glass-top dining table with seating for ten guests. There are two outdoor dining areas that seat 6-8 and 12-14 respectively. 

Off the great room is an oversized veranda with outdoor bar and sink with an outdoor covered seating area. Take the steps down to the expansive lawn & pool to the newly added Ipe hardwood deck system that is on both sides of the pool and extends out over the water and under the shade of the Sea Hibiscus trees - offering the ideal spots for sunbathing, swimming, relaxing, plus a BBQ and outdoor entertaining area.

The downstairs master known as “The Imperial Room” offers a king sized 4-posted bed, tray ceiling, and antique dresser, en-suite bathroom and is decorated in the feel of the British colonial era. The other downstairs bedroom known as “The Bahama Room” just past the powder room, offers a set of twin beds, tray ceiling, oversized closet, en-suite bathroom and is decorated in colorful Bahamas prints and patterns.

Up the grand staircase, one arrives at the upper foyer with a full set of hand made bookshelves on one side. Off the foyer is a 2nd living room with large welcoming couch set, enormous smart TV ideal for movies and sports. The upper living room also offers access to the 2nd floor veranda and views of the harbour. Just off the upper living room is a laundry room with washer/dryer and laundry sink made for convenience in mind. 

The upper level offers 3 bedrooms; The twin bedded room called “Nautica” faces west and offers both water views and direct access to the upper veranda. This room offers a tray ceiling, walk in closet, a set of twin beds that combine to make a king, and en suite bath.  The adjacent bedroom “Flora Room” offers a queen-sized bed, tray ceiling and large walk in bathroom with views of the lush gardens and tropical foliage.  Last but not least is the master bedroom known as “The Governors Suite”. This oversized bedroom offers a king bed with water views, direct access to the large veranda, a well-appointed bathroom with shower, separate tub, double vanity sinks, and a private WC. This suite also offers a large walk-in closet & dressing room. 

The completed third (3rd) floor now offers harbour views in the spacious and bright "Kid's Dorm" room with 4 twin beds and a large ensuite bath. Also on the 3rd floor is the oversized "Nanny Suite" also offering harbour views and outfitted with a king bed and ensuite bath.

Wind Whistle Harbour Villa is a truly exceptional residence that has been finished to the most exacting of standards yet has been designed and decorated with families in mind. Seven+ bedrooms, 8.5 baths the property now sleeps 16. Pool, dock for vessels up to 44ft. A purified watermaker, High-speed wifi networks throughout, and back-up generator. Two-three full time staff on duty 6-days a week when occupied.
